A malevolent, necrotic force that manifests as creeping black growth and corrupted biological matter. It is a parasitic entity that chokes the life from its host, puppeteering the remains of those it consumes.
Player-Facing Lore & Encounters
- Encountred in the sewers of Evenshade and the Monastery at Dragon’s Vigil, where it manifested as necrotic growth and corrupted creatures.
- Sanctuary Infestation: A highly concentrated and virulent form of the scale plague has infested the Sanctuary of the Wolves. In this location, it appears as pulsing black vines that drain the life essence of living beings and puppeteer their corpses (see Vine-Touched Cultist and Vine-Touched Guard Drake).
- Brylana has a unique connection to the scale plague, allowing her to absorb and redirect its corruption, though at a significant personal cost.
