- Beliefs: They believe that those who walk the path of the Shaperate and meticulously document events in the Stone (a metaphorical and literal representation of dwarven history and the physical world) will eventually be blessed.
- Membership: Shapers are typically drawn from the Noble caste, though exceptions are made for those with profound intellectual gifts and an innate "Stone sense" – a deep connection to dwarven heritage and the physical world.
- Historical Records: The Shaperate meticulously keeps records of all dwarven history, from the grand narratives of their empire to the most intricate genealogies. This includes vital information on the perilous Deep Roads, detailing countless failed expeditions from thaigs like Orzammar and mining outposts such as Frostfoot Mine.
