A simple journal written with thin, decorative celestial script.
18th of Baretrees (11), 1719
- The expedition to Tyarrek was fruitful, Gnome was able to discover a tome describing how to replicate Forge Master Kuradin’s Chaos Binder. As TBM suspected, this proved to be the base recipe for the creations of the shards in the first place. We’ve recovered the the resting place of the hilt of the blade of creation, and well as detailed explanations of the innerworkings of the titan’s gifted lairs. We should be able to proceed with the reawakening soon.
3rd of Frostwrath (2), 1720
- The reawakening of the elemental eye was a success. Cultists have formed around the shards of the blade of creation - Drown, Ironfang, Tinderstrike, and Windvane. This has drastically simplified the process of finding the four elemental titans. Since their “holy” artifacts are calling cultists to create portals from which their worshipped titan would enter the material plane, this would makes it an easy way for us to find destroy them in their lairs.
10th of Colorleaves (9), 1720
- The rite of ascension is in full swing. Gnome has the groups organized and we are looking into our options for assassins to take down the leaders of the cults for us. One the leaders are down, we should make it easy to send a team in to sweep up the shards and deal with the titans. We’ve got our eyes on the son of a talented assassin from the capital. TBM seems to think he’s something special.
1st of Harvestbrew (10), 1720
- Gnome made an enemy of the group of chosen with our target assassin, and then got himself killed for his own stupidity. We’ve sent our assassin a message anyway to attempt to proceed forward with our plan.
6th of Harvestbrew (10), 1720
- It turns out that the assassin we hired was beaten to the kill by another assassin - his own father. One of TBM’s old contacts may have anticipated our plans and tried to strike first. Ironically, this plan backfired because the father just gave the shard to his son, anyway. Surprisingly, they made friends with a sub-faction of the earth cultists and ended up finding Tyarrek. Fortunately, we’ve already recovered the important knowledge and the ultimate outcome is that they’ve retrieved Ironfang for us, too. Should be an easy matter of taking it off their hands now.
27th of Wintrycrest (1), 1721
- So it turns out that our assassin is part of a group of chosen that has ended up being kind of a pain in the ass. Anyway - this group - they call themselves the Renegade Syndicate. One the members, the chosen of the ice queen, seems particularly interesting to TBM. He says she’s no ordinary cleric, but won’t elaborate. Another one of their members was basically created by Gwent, so it should be a matter of time before they end up in conflict with the DW. We’ll make a deal with him to collect the shards after that inevitable exchange.
26th of Frostwrath (2), 1721
- Strange development - Viche’s chosen was one of the members of this Syndicate. Somehow, he was tempted by the Forsaken into linking his spirit with the voidsink in the Forge of Souls. Zul went to go save him and Viche actually linked to the prime - resulting in a reverse pole that’s caused seepage from the void through the elemental plane of water. This could prove useful but dangererous - so we’re prioritizing the collection of Olhydra’s essense.
8th of Spriganew (4), 1721
- The DW’s were also somehow unable to take down the Syndicate. Gwent’s defeat proves they shouldn’t underestimated again. To get around the need for Drown, we’re exploring an alternative strategy. With some research input from the DW, we were able to devise how to recreate Kuradin’s binders with improved replicas. Of course, we can also apply these same improvements to the existing shards should they come into our possession, as was the case for Tinderstrike and Windvane. We hope these improvements will allow the reforged blade of creation to counter the apocalypse blade without shattering.
16 of Spriganew (4), 1721
- The plan to charge up Drown version 2 is a go. As a failsafe against the Renegade Syndicate, we’ve taken advantage of that aforementioned (the rest is cut off)
