Nel'Zahul was perhaps the father of modern necromancy. The practice was shunned and banned from study for many years, until Nel'Zahul, a devotee of the Lady of Secrets and herbalist, was able to provide irrefutable evidence between the forces divine casters tapped into to restore life and arcane necromancy. Understanding that any magic that manipulated the dead would be shunned, Nel'Zahul opened a low-cost clinic for the sick and declared that he himself would donate his body to arcane research, that his corpse may be used with permission to practice the bindings of undeath. With Nel'Zahul's declaration, many volunteers came forward, and donations were made towards the cause of founding the Necron. Over time, this school produced a fair share of medical physicians as well as arcane crafters, who could imbue donated organs with magic to extend the life of those who couldn't afford divine treatment.

The Necron remains the school of magic that produces the majority of volunteers that operate the Merciful Bones Healing Clinic outside of the Royal Sage Academy.
