Here, the eager and brave gather to take on the wilds and wonders under the shadow of Evendraug, the Howling Mountain, as well as share stories while in the care of fine halfling hospitality. Unlike the surrounding towns, where adventures are looking upon with fear, suspicion, and sometimes outright disgust - Phlan was founded by former adventurers to be a safe haven for new ones - a place where thieves and paladins alike could learn to ply their craft. The world, after all, is still a dangerous place - and even those who detest the “ratcatchers”, their term for adventurers - still need their services from time to time.
How long will this peace and prosperity last? Many wonder with skepticism. With folks relearning to be something other than survivors, it is only a matter of time before the alliances formed to ensure their survival begin to fall to infighting - or worse, outright war. Still, for today, the world is safe. Tea is flowing from the kettle, served by Madame Freona’s seven daughters.
