Regional Effects
When the vessel of an eldritch child is brought into a region, strange occurrences begin to happen. The sky darkens and stars shine brighter than usual.
At night, people seeing their reflection in water might notice it grinning at them menacingly, and whenever they're in the presence of the moon they have an unshakeable feeling that they're being watched.
Fog and mist become more common and the temperature drops, making it uncomfortably cold.
The wildlife in the area becomes more aggressive and starts to mutate, taking on strange, otherworldly forms.
These effects continue until the Vessel of the Eldritch Child is removed from the region.
Former Vessel of an Otherworldly Being
The Vessel of the Eldritch Child was once a vessel that housed a forgotten one, a powerful being from another dimension.
The entity was extracted and the vessel was left behind, but it still retains some of the residual power from the otherworldly being.
The vessel radiates an aura of madness that can drive those who are weak-willed to insanity.
Other Properties
The Vessel of the Eldritch Child can be channeled once per day to cast Summon Aberration at the 7th level. If the caster loses concentration on the spell, the aberration goes rogue and fights to escape using the fastest route to safety.
The vessel can also be used to channel Contact Other Plane 3 times per day.
Prolonged exposure to the vessel's power can cause physical and mental deterioration, resulting in mutations, insanity, and even death.
- An item that was used to bind N'yograthon before a human vessel was chosen.
- The residual corruption can be used to siphon power from N'yograthon’s unwakened form. (GOO warlocks).
- The vessel of the eldritch child was the first tool used to bind N’yograthon. It was built by an Archmage of Menzobarenzan, so the only way to gain more information would be to establish contact with house Baenre, the first house of Menzobarenzan. (The world is pre-rage of demons, so Gromph Baenre is the current archmage. His sister, Matron Mohter Quenthel Baenre is effectively ruling the city.
