Known by other races as the “shades”, the dark-haired and pale skinned Drannoth are a race of humans that are at home in the husks of homes abandoned by other civilizations. They are very secretive, and intrigue and subtlety are virtues they practice throughout their scattered colonies.
Player-Facing Lore & Activities
- They are rumored to have a hidden city called Zion.
- Most of the drannoth disappeared in an event called the Second Sundering.
- The drannoth were a culture advanced in magic, and their nobility adopted elvish as their primary language of communication to separate them from the commoners.
- Haelluwen A'Zuriah was worshipped by the drannoth as one of the eternals. A lot of drannoth culture was taken from the elves, as elves were nigh immortal.
- The drannoth societies obsession with immortality and advanced magical developments is what lead them to become such a point of interest for the Necromancers of Thay, who would seek out Drannoth knowledge to uncover the secrets of lichdom.
- The Azurians are a subfaction known for magical craftsmanship, enchantment, and guiding lingering souls to rest, often called upon when magic goes awry due to spirits.
