| The lady of flame began her life amongst seven sister spririts during the [[Age of Rebirth]]. Many of the sister sprits of the Feywild sought comfort in places where nature was most peaceful - cool waterfalls, quiet groves, and soft riverbanks. But Haelluwen was different - drawn to flame like a fly to light. As much as she wanted to, she could not resisted the urge to seek our places of flame - forest fires, the ruins of volcanic activity, and scorched desserts. The flames called to her, and as they did, she heard the call of the dragons.

| The Dracocivil war would break out, and many spirits sought shelter and refuge. Haelluwen, on the other hand, followed after the gold and red-scaled wyrms, basking in the warmth and light of their destruction. She would go on to strike a pact with the red dragon, Yuravaldis - the first of his kind. In exchange for some of the magic of his breath, she would betray the ancient gold dragon Iraveska the Sunkissed. And so, Haelluwen would befriend Iraveska, gaining his trust. And when the time came she refused to honor her agreement with Yuravaldis. Enraged, Yuravaldis torched the fey kingdom - destroying the peaceful places and the guardians who live there - all seven of Haelluwen’s sisters perished in the flames.

| Distraught, Haelluwen turned to her friend Iraveska for help. Iraveska prepared a ritual to summon the spirits of fallen sisters around a massive pyre in what would later become the swamps of [[Orna]]. Here, Haelluwen prostrated herself before her sister’s ghosts, confessed to her schemes, and begged for their forgiveness. One by one, her sisters forgave her and chose to accept their slumber. But Haelluwen was not satisfied with this - why should she live when she had brought so much death to the ones she loved. And so she through herself a top the flaming pyre. Burning alive, her physical form turning to ash, Haelluwens force of will was so strong it linked across the spirits of her seven sisters and pulled the forced of the weave towards them. Seeing this, Iraveska tears flowed down his cheeks and he breathed new flame upon the pyre, hoping to end Haelluwen before she could allow her grief to hurt all the ones she loved. The pyre’s flame became a brilliant blue, but it was too late. Haelluwen’s binding had succeeded and each of the sister spirits had become baelnorn - only the flames of purification prevented them from taking physical form. Thus began the story of the spirits of the blue flame.

| The spirits, caught between the living the dead, became eternals - guides of the dead into the afterlife. Some used their strength to try to protect what was left of the elves. Others focused more on supporting the spirits of the fallen - purifying them of their guilt just as Iraveska’s flame had touched them. Haelluwen because one of these, but seeks to once again take physical form, that she might once again seek the forgiveness of her sisters, and offer them the chance to choose their fate.
