A rare and holy artifact, possibly originating from the vaults of La Cathedrale (The Grand Cathedral). Once a source of pure anchoring light, it has recently become a vessel for ultimate shadow.

Player-Facing Lore & Recent Events

Anchoring the Void: The torch was used by the Renegade Syndicate to anchor the Nightwalker in La Bastille to the material plane, preventing it from phasing out during their assault.
Corrupted Status: Following the Nightwalker's defeat, the torch absorbed the creature's void essence. It now radiates a sickly violet light and a palpable, necrotic aura that damages those nearby (DC 15 Constitution save to avoid necrotic damage).
Cursed Mechanism: The torch's internal mechanism is currently stuck in the "on" position, making it impossible to turn off normally.
Containment: The artifact is currently stored in an antimagic vault within Liberty Lovine's base for safety.
